Split

The Imperial City

Split is a city of layers, where 1,700 years of history are woven into the fabric of daily life. Built inside the ancient palace of a Roman Emperor, it is a UNESCO World Heritage site that buzzes with an energy unlike anywhere else. From the echo of footsteps on ancient marble to the hum of the modern Riva promenade, Split is a timeless masterpiece.

Living History

Split is not just a city with a historic center; the city IS the monument. It grew out of the retirement palace built by Roman Emperor Diocletian in 305 AD. Today, some 3,000 people still live within the palace walls, making it a bustling, breathing museum.

You can walk through the Peristyle—the central square where the Emperor once appeared to his subjects—now an open-air acoustic marvel where opera singers perform at night. Beneath your feet lie the Podrumi (basements), incredibly preserved substructures that were used as a filming location for Game of Thrones.

The Riva Lifestyle

The heartbeat of Split is the Riva, a palm-lined promenade that stretches the length of the palace's seafront façade. This is the city's living room, where locals come to see and be seen.

Drinking coffee here is a ritual that lasts for hours. Sitting at a cafe on the Riva, watching the ferries and yachts come and go, is the quintessential Split experience. It captures the city's unique energy—relaxed, Mediterranean, yet undeniably grand.

Marjan Hill & Beyond

Just west of the palace lies Marjan Hill, the 'lungs of the city'. A short hike up its pine-shaded trails rewards you with the best panoramic view of Split, the harbor, and the islands of Brač and Šolta in the distance.

As the main transport hub of Dalmatia, Split is the perfect embarkation or disembarkation point for your charter. Its proximity to the airport and the central islands makes it the ideal gateway to the Adriatic.
